Hit Network buildOps

HIT Central

One sign-in for Hit Network's thumbnails, longform video edits, and team ops tools.

Problem

Hit Network's team used two separate apps: a thumbnail generator with its own logins, and a separate longform video editor. Staff had trained on both, so any merge had to keep their screens the same.

What we built

  • One shared workspace with a single sign-in and a Command Center home, where each brand's team sees only the tools switched on for it.
  • A plug-in tool model Each tool registers a manifest with the shared shell, so it gets the same sign-in, menu, and per-brand on/off switch, and media-heavy tools hand their work to a shared job queue.
  • A shared job queue with background workers that handle the heavy media work: thumbnail rendering, transcription, and video renders.
  • Thumbnail Studio On-brand YouTube thumbnails from a short brief, with per-brand kits, a face library, AI edits, and 2 to 8 variants per job.
  • Longform Video Editor Upload a raw recording, accept suggested cuts for dead air, filler, and retakes while charts and spoken numbers stay protected, then render a 16:9 video at YouTube loudness or export the cut to Premiere, DaVinci, or Final Cut.
  • Team ops tools A goals Dashboard, a drag-and-drop Task Board, a Deals tracker for sponsor deliverables, and a Time and Cost Tracker for client projects.
  • Google sign-in for staff accounts.

Result

Live since June 2026. Staff sign in once and land on one Command Center instead of switching between separate apps, and existing thumbnail users kept their work through the move. Since launch, new tools such as a Time and Cost Tracker and a rebuilt team Task Board have been added inside the same workspace instead of shipping as separate apps.

Tools inside

  • Command Center (workspace home)
  • Dashboard (team goals)
  • Thumbnail Studio
  • Longform Video Editor
  • Task Board
  • Deals
  • Time and Cost Tracker

Stack

  • Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript
  • Convex (database, backend functions, auth)
  • pnpm monorepo
  • Node.js workers (sharp)
  • Python worker (faster-whisper, auto-editor, ffmpeg)
  • Docker
  • Vitest
  • GitHub Actions

Role of MyOS

Designed and built for Hit Network: the shared workspace and sign-in, the plug-in tool model, and most of the tools inside it, with Hit Network's own team extending the Dashboard and Task Board.

Sources
